Being a yoga instructor and a runner, I love this pose.! It feels amazing to stretch out your entire spine. Holding the pose for at least 3 minutes on each side increases your spinal mobility, aids in digestion and is great for relaxation.
- Lie down on your back.
- Extend your arms out to a T and your legs straight out on your mat or floor.
- Shift your hips about an inch to the right then bring your right knee up to your chest and extend your left leg flat on the floor keeping your left foot flexed throughout the pose.
- Cross your right knee over your midline to the floor on the left side of your body (this is when a block or blanket under your knee is helpful if you are unable to touch the floor).
- Turn your head to the right gazing over your shoulder toward your right hand.
Slowly breathe in and out while holding the position for 3 minutes before returning to center and repeating on the left. Jump In!
